Try out for pro baseball

The Las Cruces Vaqueros, a new professional baseball team in the Continental Baseball League, will be holding a tryout camp for prospective players in Santa Maria.

The camp will be held Feb. 6 at Elks Field, 622 S. McClelland. The cost is $50 per person and pre-registration is required. Bobby Brown, a former manager of the Santa Maria Indians and head baseball coach at Allan Hancock College for two seasons, will manage the Vaqueros.
