Girls Circle sessions start up again

Body Image is the topic of the next set of sessions presented by the Police Activities League that are geared specifically toward teenage girls. Girls Circle is a free program aiming to provide girls with the opportunity to help each other by sharing experiences.

The circle will start April 10 and meet every Wednesday for eight weeks from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Abel Maldonado Community Youth Center.

The program is part of the One Circle Foundation and is a support group for teenage girls that focuses on such topics as relationships with friends and family, self-image, well-being, goal-setting, and self-expression. Each meeting is structured around topic-specific activities where girls are encouraged to relate to one another and express themselves.

For more information or to register, contact the Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department at 925-0951, Ext. 252.

School Scene is compiled by Staff Writer Camillia Lanham. Information should be sent to the Sun via fax, e-mail, or mail.
