A place to find books
BY CAMILLA LANHAM
Altrusa International, Inc. of the Central Coast will be giving away free children’s and adult books during its annual Festival of Books this summer.
The event is held from noon to 2 p.m. on Sunday afternoons upstairs in the Town Center Mall in Santa Maria. This year’s festival will have three more events, July 28 and Aug. 11 and 25.
Each year the organization distributes thousands of free books to members of the community at similar events. If you’re interested in donating new or gently used books to the cause, contact Laura Selken at 406-9989.
Altrusa is a community service organization that supports volunteerism, literacy, and youth in our area. For additional information about the organization or becoming an Altrusa member, e-mail Selken at firstname.lastname@example.org.
