Weekly Poll
Are you for or against Measure P, the ballot initiative aiming to ban high-intensity oil extraction?

Clarification

The Sun would like to clarify some information printed in its Nov. 8 news story, “Effort to recall school board member falls flat.” The Santa Maria-Bonita School District and its former employee Will Smith, who worked at Arellanes Junior High School, reached a settlement prior to his election to the school board in 2010.

News Briefs is compiled by Sun writers from staff reporting and local and national media. Information should be sent to the Sun via fax, e-mail, or mail.
