Political Watch 2.04

U.S. Rep. Lois Capps (D-Santa Barbara) has President Barack Obama’s back. After Obama’s first State of the Union address on Jan. 27, Capps released the following statement: “I share the President’s commitment to focus on creating jobs, helping small businesses, and cracking down on Wall Street’s irresponsible behavior. I also applaud the President’s call to do more to improve education in America. Education has always helped open the doors of opportunity and economic success and I am confident that this is an investment in our nation’s future that will pay huge dividends. Finally, I commend President Obama for calling for the repeal of the so-called ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ policy. I have long believed that this discriminatory policy does not make our military stronger nor does it make our nation safer.”
