Weekly Poll
Should A.B. 109, the state prison realignment act, be repealed?

Yes; it's a train wreck.
No; it seems to be working just fine.
I don't know enough about it to say.

Keep Joni Gray in office

Lompoc

James M. Hall

I was amazed when I received my mail recently, which included a political flyer titled "Attention: Republicans Election Day Voting Guide." The implication was that the persons and propositions included therein were endorsed by the Republican Party.

Do not be fooled; make sure you read the fine print with regard to the (*), which states "appearance in ... does not necessarily imply endorsement. ... Appearance is paid for and authorized by each candidate."

The initial implication of Joni Gray not being endorsed by her party was a slap in her face. Not only that, but the position of county supervisor is nonpartisan. Here is a very dedicated and hard-working woman who has given her all for Santa Barbara County for the past 14 years. Joni's achievements not only for the 4th District but also for the entire county of Santa Barbara are too numerous to list here and should not be berated by such flyers.

A "hot-head" as referenced in the newspapers can never replace Joni's service and dedication. Join me and all of the mayors of the North County in re-electing Joni Gray as our 4th District Supervisor.
