Weekly Poll
Should A.B. 109, the state prison realignment act, be repealed?

Yes; it's a train wreck.
No; it seems to be working just fine.
I don't know enough about it to say.

I'll support a candidate who takes the pledge

Arroyo Grande

Gary Wechter

I, many of my ilk and many more, agree with Grover Norquist and his pledge. Were that not the case, no one would care about it one way or the other.

Our government in Washington (and California) has a spending problem—not a revenue problem—and any additional tax or fee revenue will support and encourage an ever-growing and even larger bureaucracy.

We the people need to decide how much government we want and vote for and leverage our goals through our elected representatives. Our federal government has its tentacles into everything from the drinking age to local school curriculum to our health care. This is ridiculous and not what was envisioned by our founders.

I believe the only way to stop the continuing growth of government is to starve it, so I’m inclined to support any candidate, Republican or Democrat, who will take the Grover Norquist pledge and live by it.
