No thanks, Obama

Arroyo Grande

President Obama’s speech at the DNC was filled with goals embraced in rhetoric of hope reminiscent of the statements and promises he made four years ago. Why didn’t he accomplish them during the first four years when he had both houses of the Congress during the first two years of his administration? His excessive spending then sponsored the Tea Party correction in 2010. He, at this point, did not to go to the center and insistently stayed left—far left in the political spectrum.

His speech lacked substance as to how the goals will be accomplished. More spending? Where’s the budget for this? I have seen this pitch before, and I believe many, including a large number of independents, share that conclusion. Obama hopes to do in the next four years what he didn’t do in the first four. The only thing that may be fulfilled by this aspiration is that he will improve his golf game. I suggest he need not be president to do that.
