The Hollands’ donation to Jimmy Paulding and his not telling is not an issue. Lynn Compton grabbed it as such because she has nothing else to grab on against Paulding. She fears that he will replace her. During the years of her administration, she has done nothing for Oceano. She never came to ask us what our needs are. Neither did she ask from the community of Halcyon. Not even during her campaign. And she never attended the meetings about the air pollution coming from the off-roading area over Nipomo and the Oceano beach community.
I have lived in Oceano for over 30 years, 30 years of Compton-like administration, and Oceano has not improved a bit. Jimmy Paulding has held two town meetings in Oceano. They were both well attended. He collected people’s opinions and suggestions and came up with a decent platform. He will advocate making Oceano safe, walkable, with a revitalized downtown, biking paths, and improved access to the beach. That’s worth giving him a chance and a vote.
