Are you in favor of the county building a solar facility in Cuyama?

Yes; we need more clean energy!
Maybe; I hear those things take a lot of water, like the one in SLO.
No; it's a big money sinkhole.
I don't have an opinion.

Get a tree for free

BY JOE PAYNE

The Santa Barbara County Farm Bureau Oak Tree Education Program is offering oak tree seedlings to members of the community for free.
During the fall, the Oak Tree Education program made a task out of collecting acorns, which were submerged in water. The floating acorns were removed—they floated because they were hollow, thus unsuitable for growing—and the sinkers were kept and cultivated, resulting in the batch of healthy saplings the county is offering.
Anyone interested in procuring a sapling and learning about proper planting procedure can get more information at 688-7479 or oaktreesbc@hwy246.net.
