The first-ever Cinderella’s Closet Santa Maria event needs your help to get started. The program is dedicated to promoting and enhancing the self-esteem of Central Coast high school girls in the form of free prom dresses and accessories.

Anyone with new; vintage; or clean, gently used dresses can donate them to Cinderella’s Closet Santa Maria on March 3 from 8 a.m. to noon at Element Christian Church, 3596 Skyway Drive. Accessories—jewelry, evening shoes, purses, wraps, and the like—are accepted as well.

The actual event is scheduled for March 9 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be “Fairy Godmothers” available to assist with sizing, and seamstresses available to provide alterations. There will also be several makeup and hair styling workshops throughout the day. More information is available at (757) 574-2140 or
