After a decade of companionship, camaraderie, and annual art shows, the Brush and Palette Art Group is meeting again with its annual Show and Sale. The group, as its name implies, is a coalition of skilled local painters who enjoy a variety of subjects.
The group is comprised of seven members, including president Marilyn Dover Benson, Minnie Anderson, Barbara Shepard, Hattie Stoddard, Beverly Hoebel, Robert Hoebel, and Vora Souza. Most of them are classic brush painters, though there are a few exceptions. Robert, for instance, primarily uses an airbrushing technique, and Anderson enjoys using graphite to make her detailed creations.
The group will be showing members’ works in Orcutt for the annual show and sale, which will also feature a demonstration by an artist each hour. The event is free to attend, but you might find yourself leaving with a piece of fine, locally created art.
