Know your railroad history

The South Coast Railroad Museum presents an educational lecture on local railroad history titled “Southern Pacific’s Depots of Santa Barbara County” on Jan. 22 by Jean-Guy Dube.

The event is free thanks to the sponsorship of the South Coast Railroad Museum, and will feature an exhibition of detailed depot building blueprints. The blueprints are crafted by Dube, an expert on local depots, and show a stunning amount of detail. Copies of the blueprints will be available for purchase after the event.

The educational event is set for Jan. 22 at 7 p.m. at the Goleta Library, 500 N. Fairview Ave., Goleta. More info is available at 964-3540 or gcoombs@goletadepot.org.

Arts Briefs is compiled by Arts Editor Joe Payne. Information should be sent to the Sun via fax, e-mail, or mail.
