Bison take over Union Hotel
The C Gallery will display the art of Joseph Knowles at the historic Union Hotel, 362 Bell St. in Los Alamos, as part of the gallery’s goal to exhibit western-themed art and regional landscapes in the hotel’s lobby and dining room through Jan. 15, 2013.
Knowles’ “Bison Series” is made up of large charcoal drawings of the iconic buffalo.
His art has been represented in one-person and group shows in Santa Barbara as well as in New York, Connecticut, and Rhode Island. As an enrolled member of the Cherokee Nation, Knowles has focused in recent years on work that relates to his Indian heritage.
