Nominations for arts honorees acceptedThe Santa Maria Arts Council is accepting nominations for 2013 individual grants in the arts honorees. Santa Maria Arts Council member groups are invited to submit the name of an individual—teachers, patrons, activists, and artists—who has positively and significantly impacted the arts in Santa Maria Valley. To submit a nomination, e-mail the nominee’s name, a brief bio of 50 words or less, a photo, and a brief statement of his or her experience with the arts in the Santa Maria Valley to Kate Burridge at kate@robertburridge.com. The deadline for submission is Oct. 15. All completed submissions will be read by the grants committee and names will be nominated at the Oct. 17 meeting of the Santa Maria Arts Council. If there is more than one submission, the honoree will be selected by ballot at the November meeting. The 2013 honoree will be recognized at the grants showcase on May 21, 2013, when $10,000 will be awarded to local emerging artists in dance, drama, visual arts, and music. For more information, call Kate at 489-9649 or visit kate@robertburridge.com. |
