PCPA gets six Scenies

Stage Scene L.A. has recognized PCPA’s 2012 Summer Season with six Scenies Awards. Editor Steven Stanley reviewed 267 productions throughout L.A., as well as theaters in San Diego and as far north as Solvang. Stanley received more than 1,000 review requests between Sept. 1, 2011, and Aug. 31, 2012.

Artistic Director Mark Booher stated, “We’re naturally really pleased to have the strong work of the company and several of the stellar artists at PCPA Theaterfest recognized in this year’s Scenies Awards. We’re especially appreciative that the very busy Steven Stanley makes his way up to see the excellent work that’s happening in Santa Barbara County and fondly hope this recognition will inspire Los Angeles area lovers of theater to do the same.”

PCPA’s Scenies included Best Musical Production for Daddy Long Legs; Best Duo Performance for Daddy Long Legs for Ephie Aardema and Kevin Early; Best Musical Production for Legally Blonde; Best Direction for Legally Blonde, Michael Jenkinson; Best Choreography for Legally Blonde, Michael Jenkinson; and Best Performance by a Lead Actress Musical for Legally Blonde, Jessica Crouch.
