Should A.B. 109, the state prison realignment act, be repealed?

Yes; it's a train wreck.
No; it seems to be working just fine.
I don't know enough about it to say.

See a bit of the world

A featured artist reception for painter Marilyn Dover Benson will be held Friday, Aug. 24, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Town Center Gallery, 321 Town Center West, B-6. Dover Benson has traveled worldwide. A self-taught artist, she’s sold countless paintings in solo and group shows in galleries, garden tours, and wineries locally and worldwide.

Although quaint thatched English cottages and Central Coast scenes are her forte, the current show, “Women of the World,” was inspired by seeing a picture of a Geisha girl and feeling she just had to paint it.

Having traveled worldwide, she and her husband Don settled in Santa Maria in 1991. This show, as well as new works by other gallery artists, will continue to be on display until Oct. 6.

The Town Center Gallery is open Tuesday to Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, call Dover Benson at 937-8108 or visit her website at fineartbymarilyn.com.
