Enjoy opera at Temple Beth El

Beautiful music, love, jealousy, slavery, freedom—all those themes appear in Verdi’s Nabucco, which Temple Beth El of Santa Maria screens at its first Opera Movie Night at 7:30 p.m. on July 31.

Nabucco is based on the story of the Babylonian exile retold with Verdi’s operatic embellishments. The production, featuring baritone Samuel Ramey and conductor James Levine, is in four acts, in Italian with English subtitles.

There will be an intermission and refreshments. To reserve popcorn, coffee, and a seat, RSVP to Marsha Epstein at 929-6301 or Elise Cassel at 354-0480.
