Elwin Mussell Center hosts two upcoming drive-in holiday concertsThe city of Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department is sponsoring two drive-in holiday concerts at the Elwin Mussell Center in Santa Maria, on Thursday, Dec. 3, and Thursday, Dec. 17. Both concerts will include selections of holiday music and are designed for attendees to enjoy from the comfort and convenience of their own vehicles.
The Monotone Trio will perform at the venue on Thursday, Dec. 3, from noon to 1 p.m. Led by founder Clive Grey, the local group will perform familiar holiday tunes and cap things off with a traditional sing-along for the audience to join in on. The Simply Saxes Quartet will perform on Thursday, Dec. 17, from noon to 1 p.m. Led by bandleader, saxophonist, and singer Judy Lindquist (pictured, left, with the Riptide Big Band), the group is also planning to include an audience sing-along in its finale. This concert was planned in collaboration with the Santa Maria Senior Citizens Club through a grant from the Community Foundation of San Luis Obispo County.
