Lompoc Recreation Division holds annual photo contest

Photo submissions to the annual Lompoc Valley Photography Contest are being accepted through Friday, Oct. 18. The contest is open to both adults and children (ages 5 and older). The competition is divided into five categories: Youth (grades K through eight); Teen (grades nine through 12); Adult Amateur (ages 18 and older); Adult Professional (ages 18 and older); and Nature and Faces (ages 5 and older).

Ribbons will be awarded to first, second, and third place in each category and for Best of Show during a reception at the Dick DeWees Community and Senior Center on Saturday, Oct. 26, at 10 a.m. The venue is located at 1120 W. Ocean Ave., Lompoc.

Photo entries cost $3 each and can be submitted at the Anderson Recreation Center, located at 125 W. Walnut Ave., Lompoc. Call (805) 875-8100 or visit for an application, entry rules, and other info.
