Small Town Abstractions, a new art exhibition at the Grossman Gallery in Lompoc, opens Monday, July 1, and runs through Wednesday, July 31. An artist reception takes place on Sunday, July 7, from 2 to 4 p.m. This exhibit features oil paintings by Lompoc-based artist Elizabeth Monks Hack, who strived to capture different aspects of small-town life with each piece. Hack was especially inspired by the nature and simplicity of the Lompoc Valley. Landscapes include downtown Lompoc streets, the valley’s chaparral-covered hills, and Surf Beach.
The Grossman Gallery is located inside the Lompoc Library, which is located at 501 E. North St., Lompoc. Small Town Abstractions is open during regular library hours: Monday through Thursday, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday and Saturday, from 1 to 5 p.m. Call (805) 875-8775 or visit elizabethmonkshack.com for more information.
