Great American Melodrama presents 'Gold Fever'

The Great American Melodrama brings the Old West to life in its latest comedy production, Gold Fever at the Rough and Ready by Neil LaVine. Gold Fever joins The Mix Tape in the Melodrama's summer repertory season. Both shows, featuring the same cast, will play on alternating nights throughout the remainder of the summer.

The show is a spoof of traditional Western melodramas and is loosely based on the true story of Rough and Ready, California, where a miner found a big gold nugget and summarily died.

The show runs July 12 through Sept. 16 with performances on Wednesdays through Fridays at 7 p.m., Saturdays at 3 and 7 p.m., and Sundays at 6 p.m. Beginning July 14, Gold Fever and The Mix Tape will perform on alternating nights. Tickets are $21 to $28, with discounts available for groups, seniors, students, active military, and children. More info: (805) 489-2499 or visit americanmelodrama.com.
