Wildling Museum hosts creative arts workshops

The Wildling Museum of Art and Nature announced two arts workshops available in September.

Exploring Color with Cynthia DeVine happens Sept. 8 at 1 p.m. and features an exploration of color. DeVine, an artist and art teacher with years of experience teaching both children and adults at schools and workshops throughout Santa Ynez Valley, will share a history of the development of color theory and help each workshop participant better understand their own relationship to color in their lives. The workshop will culminate with a mandala coloring activity. Tuition is $30 for Wildling Members and $35 for non-members. All supplies will be included and each participant will be able to take home a set of brush markers.

Susan Farber of Sol Aromatics presents the art of natural perfumery in a three-hour workshop Sept. 23 from 1 to 4 p.m. Participants will learn how to formulate fragrances with botanical essences gathered from around the world. The workshop includes a discussion of 18 essential oils and scent games to connect smell with emotions, images, and memories. Tuition is $75, and participants will leave with a bottle of custom fragrance, along with the formula for future refills and a take-home guide of the process.

The Wildling Museum is located at 1511 Mission Drive, Solvang. For more information, visit wildlingmuseum.org.
