Hancock's Dimensions in Dance welcomes special guests

The Allan Hancock College dance program presents its fall recital, Dimensions in Dance, showing Oct. 15 through 18 in the Marian Theatre on campus. The recital welcomes a number of guest performers and choreographers including Allan Hancock College’s Vice President of Academic Affairs George Railey Jr. playing his saxophone. Directed by the dance program’s coordinator and fine arts chair, Dianne Greico McMahon, Dimensions in Dance will also include guest choreographers Doriana Sanchez and Mikaela Arneson.

Railey’s career in education and music spans more than 35 years, including serving as a music professor at several universities in California and Kentucky. The guest choreographers have both appeared on Dancing with the Stars and other shows. A number of staff choreographers and two student choreographers will also contribute to the recital, which features jazz, tap, hip-hop, modern, and ballet styles.

Dimensions in Dance shows at 7 p.m. Oct. 15 through 17 and at 2 p.m. on Oct. 17 and 18 at the Marian Theatre, 800 S. College, Santa Maria. Cost is $13 to $15. More information is available at the Performing Arts Center Box Office at 922-8313 or hancockcollege.edu.
