Annual Pioneer Picnic moved to August

By JOE PAYNE

The Santa Maria Valley Pioneer Association recently announced that it’s celebrating its 90th annual Pioneer Picnic event in August, rather than in July, which is the tradition. The Pioneer Picnic is a full-day event at Pioneer Park in Santa Maria that celebrates the residents who have pioneer roots. The event is being held Aug. 9 this year.
