Learn landscapes with MacKah

BY JOE PAYNE

The C Gallery, in collaboration with Mary Kay West, is bringing the famous landscape painter John MacKah to the Central Coast for an intermediate landscape-painting workshop. The workshop, “Illuminated Landscapes: Artisanal Use of Oils,” will include five days of plein air painting with MacKah, and lunch.

MacKah is based in North Carolina and has enjoyed many shows and teaching positions in the art world because of his tremendous skill. His apprentice Mary Kay West is based on the Central Coast and has art showing in Santa Barbara.

The painting will happen on location at the historic Price Ranch in Los Alamos Sept. 27 through Oct. 1. Cost is $775. More information is available at The C Gallery, 466 Bell St., Los Alamos. More info: 344-3807 and thecgallery.com.
