Become a 'Rising Star'

Rising Star, a solo singing competition from the producers of Teen Star, is accepting applications from adults living in Tri-County area, which includes Ventura, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo counties. The one-night showcase is Sept. 7 in the Samala Room of the Chumash Casino and Resort, 3400 Highway 246, Santa Ynez.

The deadline for applications is July 22. Applicants must by older than 18 years by July 25. Auditions will be held July 26 through 28 at the Chumash Casino and Resort before a panel of local celebrity judges who will decide the final 12 participants in the concert event. The judges will be Jimmy Messina, Erik Stein, and Lin Aubuchon.
