Santa Maria Sun / Job Openings
The Santa Maria Sun is looking for a full-time staff writer to handle news at our weekly paper.
Our ideal candidate will be able to jump in with both feet and hit the ground running with little to no hand-holding, as well as produce and identify quality writing—unlike the mixed metaphors earlier in this sentence.
We’re looking for someone with the drive to dig into investigative stories, the courage to uncover buried narratives, the passion to give a voice to the voiceless, and the talent to write compelling, riveting articles and features. You’ll also be taking photos from time to time.
Think you have what it takes? We’d love to hear from you.
Send a cover letter, résumé, and at least three writing samples (published clips preferred) to Cindy Rucker at 1010 Marsh Street, San Luis Obispo, CA 93401 or email email@example.com.
